Hosea

Hosea prophesied to the northern kingdom of Israel in the eighth century BCE, through the prosperity of Jeroboam II and the chaos that followed. Almost nothing is known of his background, but everything is known of his marriage: God told him to wed an unfaithful woman, and his home became a living parable.
