Rosh HaShanah

The blast of the shofar opens the Days of Awe. Known in Scripture as Yom Teruah, the day of sounding, Rosh HaShanah begins ten days of self-examination that lead to Yom Kippur. It is a festival of both sweetness and sober reckoning, and it looks toward a final trumpet.
