Yom Ha'Aliyah

Aliyah means going up, and for centuries Jews have gone up—from Yemen and Russia, Ethiopia and Morocco, France and America—to a land most had never seen. Yom HaAliyah honors that ingathering and the immigrants who built the country, marked on the day Israel first crossed the Jordan.
